Young people and job-seekers can obtain information on careers, education and training opportunities at the Education & Careers Expo 2005 to be held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai, from February 19 to 22.
Organised by the Labour Department and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Expo carries a main theme of "Keys to the Future".
A total of 477 exhibitors including government departments, public bodies, professional associations, vocational training bodies and private enterprises will take part in the expo this year, providing information on employment channels and job prospects of various industries as well as local and overseas educational opportunities.
Experience-sharing sessions, careers seminars and video shows on the latest job market information will enable job-seekers and fresh graduates to better equip themselves and plan for their future.
Fresh graduates often encounter difficulties in finding jobs due to their lack of work experience.
Special counters and seminars on the 'Youth Pre-employment Training Programme' and the 'Youth Work Experience & Training Scheme' will be arranged.
Young people are welcome to enrol on the spot and take this opportunity to prepare themselves for pre-employment and on-the-job training.
Admission to the Expo is free. Details are as follows:
* February 19 (Saturday) - 10.30am to 7pm;
* February 20 to 21 (Sunday to Monday) - 10am to 7pm; * February 22 (Tuesday) - 10am to 6pm.
