The Labour Department will launch a new Announcement in the Public Interest on television tomorrow to promote partnerships between employers and employees.

With the theme "Success through Partnership" presented in a lively manner, the API aims to drive home the message that confrontation only strains the relationship between employers and employees. Unity enables them to overcome adversities and open up new opportunities, to both parties' benefit.

To enhance harmonious labour relations, the Department has been actively promoting workplace cooperation, including setting up three-way committees at the industry level to facilitate dialogue between employers and employees on issues of common concern.

So far, nine such committees have been set up in the catering, retail, hotel and tourism, cement and concrete, construction, property management, printing, warehouse and cargo transport and theatre industries.
