Arthur Li welcomes new examinations head
*

Secretary for Education & Manpower Prof Arthur Li today welcomed the appointment of Dr Peter Hill as the Secretary General designate of the Hong Kong Examinations & Assessment Authority.

Dr Hill is a distinguished international scholar and renowned educationalist in various aspects of education, in particular the areas of assessment and policy making, he said.

"I am confident that he will lead the Authority to scale new heights," he said.

Dr Hill has first-hand experience in the development of assessment systems in Hong Kong and is familiar with local education issues, he said.

"I trust that he will make significant contributions towards changing the assessment culture in Hong Kong."

"The bureau looks forward to working in partnership with the Authority under his leadership in the development of curriculum and assessment in the local context, especially when we are moving towards a three-year senior secondary and four-year undergraduate structure."
