The Education & Manpower Bureau and 11 senior secondary schools under the Direct Subsidy Scheme will hold an exhibit on December 5 and 6 to promote the scheme which provides Secondary Three leavers with a diversified and practical curricula.
Eight of these schools were opened in the 2003-04 school year. Three more will join the scheme in the year ahead.
The exhibition will be open on December 5 from 4pm to 6pm and on December 6 from 9am to 5pm at the Atrium, LG1, Hong Kong Productivity Council Building, 78 Tat Chee Avenue, Yau Yat Chuen, Kowloon.
Apart from Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination subjects in Arts, Science and Commerce streams, such as Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, Information Technology and Putonghua, these schools offer students their choice of subjects such as Industry & Commerce, Design, Tourism and Art.
They also arrange short-term workplace internship programmes that allow students to familiarise themselves with different occupations.
Their Secondary Five graduates have access to the traditional advanced-level curriculum and professional diploma and high diploma courses.
Schools under this scheme recruit Secondary Four students on their own.
Secondary Three students may apply directly for admission to the schools, or apply for the schools' remaining Secondary Four places through the Central Allocation mechanism under the Junior Secondary Education Assessment System.

* CCC Kung Lee College;
* ECF Saint Too Canaan College;
* Heung To Secondary School (Tseung Kwan O);
* PLK Ngan Po Ling College;
* United Christian College (Kowloon East);
* QualiEd College;
* YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College;
* Lam Tai Fai College (to open in the 2004-05 school year);
* Shamshuipo Tsung Tsin College (to open in the 2004-05 school year); and
* VTC Senior Secondary School (tentative school name, to open in the 2004-05 school year).
