Admission advisory body members appointed

The membership list of the Advisory Committee on the Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents & Professionals has been released.

 

The Chief Executive appoints members for a two-year term. The Committee is chaired by the Financial Secretary and comprises nine official and 15 non-official members.

 

Its responsibility is to advise the Director of Immigration on entry applications received under the scheme which was implemented on July 15.

 

The scheme aims to facilitate local businesses in meeting manpower needs by bringing in qualified Mainland talent and professionals.

 

There is no sectoral restriction or quota. 

 

The 15 non-official members are Francis Bong, Darwin Chen, Christopher Cheng, Tommy Cheung, George Chung, Shirley Fung, Professor Nancy Ip, Professor Kwan Chi-yee, Stanley Ko, Daniel Lai, Dennis Lau, Benedict Lee, Dr Lo Wing-lok, Dennis Ng, and Yu Kwok-chun.

 

Official members include representatives from the Commerce, Industry & Technology, Economic Development & Labour, Education & Manpower, Environment, Transport & Works, Financial Services & the Treasury, Health, Welfare & Food, Home Affairs, Housing, Planning & Lands & Security Bureaux.
