Another $2m in snowstorm aid approved

*

Two more Disaster Relief Fund grants totalling $2 million for Mainland snowstorm victims have been approved, bringing the total value of grants for these victims to $237.43 million.

About $1.2 million will go to the Association of Chinese Evangelical Ministry for relief projects in Guangxi and $800,000 to the Cedar Fund for relief projects in Hubei.

The grants are further to a disbursement of $235.43 million made earlier for three provincial and municipal governments and four organisations to provide emergency relief to snowstorm victims in eight areas.

To ensure the money is used correctly the agencies must submit evaluation reports and audited accounts once the relief project is complete.
