Appointments

3 new members join goods safety appeal panel
*

Ricky Tsui, Stephen Yip and Chan Tak-cheung have been appointed to the Appeal Board Panel under the Consumer Goods Safety Ordinance for two years from October 20.

 

Fourteen incumbent members have been reappointed. They are Kenneth Ho (Chairman), Priscilla Wong (Deputy Chairman), Dr Chan Kang-cheung, Dr Ralph Ip, Peter Liu, Dr Richard So, Bob Chong, Alexander Lee, Pauline Lo, Frank Tang, Dr Cyril Chow, Irene Chu, Kwok Sau-ying and Tung Cheung Yee-lai.

 

The appeal board is responsible for hearing appeals against enforcement decisions or actions taken by the Commissioner of Customs & Excise under the Consumer Goods Safety Ordinance.

 

When convened, the board will consist of the panel's chairman or deputy chairman, who will be the Chairman of the Board, and one member each from the panel's three categories - scientists/technologists, consumer goods industry, and general public categories.
