Final register of electors published
*

The final register of electors for geographical constituencies carrying the names and addresses of 2.973 million electors eligible to vote in the District Council Elections in November was published today.

The Registration & Electoral Office said each registered elector will be allocated a constituency and a polling station on the basis of their registered address.

More than 257,000 records have been updated and about 164,000 new electors added to the final register.

The final register is available for public inspection at:

* The Registration & Electoral Office: 10/F, Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road, Wan Chai; and,

* Public Enquiry Services Centres of the 18 District Offices (enquiries should be made at the District Office relating to the geographical constituency concerned).

The final registers for the functional constituencies and the Election Committee subsector were also published today.

They are available for inspection at:

* The Registration & Electoral Office in Harbour Centre, and at 10/F, Guardian House, 32 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai; and,

* Five District Offices in Central and Western, Yau Tsim Mong, Kwun Tong, Sha Tin and Tsuen Wan.

Provisional registers and omission lists were opened for public inspection from August 15 to 29, so objections against omissions and reports of address change can be made.
