*

The Legislative Council has invited the public to comment on the Boundary Facilities Improvement Tax Bill.

The bill, gazetted on June 6 and introduced into LegCo on June 11, seeks to impose a boundary facilities improvement tax on people departing from Hong Kong by sea or by land, and on the owners of specified vehicles leaving Hong Kong.

A bills committee, chaired by Legislative Councillor Chan Kam-lam, has been formed to study the legislation.

Interested parties are invited to submit their views on the bill in writing to the committee on or before September 10.

Submissions will be made available to the public and uploaded onto the Legco website unless the writer of the submission has advised otherwise.

The committee can be contacted at:

3/F Citibank Tower, 3 Garden Road, Central

Fax: 2121 0420

Tel: 2509 4602 or 2525 3331

Email: lyychan@legco.gov.hk
