2 rights reports submitted to the UN
*

Hong Kong's second International Covenant on Economic, Social & Cultural Rights report, and initial Convention on the Rights of the Child report, have been submitted to the United Nations.

The first report looks at developments in Hong Kong since the last report, and responds to the concerns and recommendations made by the Committee on Economic, Social & Cultural Rights after the hearing on our last report.

The second gives a comprehensive account of concerned developments since the Committee on the Rights of the Child examined the UK's report on Hong Kong in 1996.

The Government has sought the views of Legislators, non-governmental organisations and other interested parties on the implementation of these two treaties before preparing the reports.

Hong Kong teams will attend hearings on the reports in due course as members of the Chinese delegation.
