96% of policy objectives met
*

Most of the Government's 2001 policy commitments have been met, according to the Progress Report on Policy Objectives (2001).

The report shows that of 1,368 commitments, 1,309 or 96% are completed, on schedule or under review.

The remaining 4% are behind schedule mostly because of work slippage and the need for more extensive consultation in preparing legislation.

The progress report covers the work of bureaux and departments up to June 30, 2002. As in previous years, it sets out the initiatives, targets and the position reached.

The reasons for commitments which are under review or behind schedule are given against the individual items.

The full text of the report is now available online.
