Cheung Chau all set for carnival
The Cheung Chau Climbing Carnival will be held at the football pitch at Pak Tai Temple Playground on Cheung Chau from noon to 6pm this Sunday.
Members of the public who are at least 1m tall can participate in a bun tower-climbing activity, which involves climbing the 14m-tall bun tower that is being used in the Bun Scrambling Competition. Professional coaches from the Hong Kong, China Mountaineering & Climbing Union will brief participants on climbing techniques and safety aspects.
Additionally, carnival attendees can make wishes at the Wishing Bun Tower, watch variety shows and play booth games.
The Bun Tower Climbing Team Relay will take place from 9am to noon on the same day, with teams from local tertiary institutions, government departments, public utilities and commercial and industrial organisations all competing. Visitors are invited to watch the action and cheer for the teams.
