Senior appointments announced
The Government announced today the appointments of new permanent secretaries for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs and for Security.
Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Maggie Wong will take up the post of Permanent Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs tomorrow. She will succeed Gracie Foo, who is already on pre-retirement leave.
Director of Information Services Apollonia Liu will take up the post of Permanent Secretary for Security on March 30.
Meanwhile, former Commissioner for Digital Policy Tony Wong proceeded on pre-retirement leave from February 2. Deputy Commissioner for Digital Policy (Digital Infrastructure) Daniel Cheung is the Acting Commissioner.
Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung said of the appointments of Ms Wong and Mrs Liu that they are seasoned Administrative Officers with proven leadership and management skills. She added that she is confident they will continue to serve with professionalism in their new posts.
Regarding the retirements of the two senior officials, the civil service chief thanked them for each rendering over 30 years of loyal and dedicated service to the community and making significant contributions to the Government. She also wished them a fulfilling and happy retirement.
