The Inland Revenue Department today issued an alert regarding fraudulent emails purporting to be sent by it and seeking to obtain recipients' personal particulars by inviting them to claim tax refunds via a hyperlink.

The department stressed that it has no connection with the emails and has reported the case to Police for further investigation.

It reminded the public not to open suspicious emails or visit hyperlinks provided in such emails.
