Job fair to offer 2.8k vacancies

The Labour Department will hold the “New Career Start Job Fair for the Middle-aged & Elderly” in Mong Kok on November 13 and 14, offering more than 2,800 job vacancies across various industries, with over 60 organisations participating.

 

Each day, around 30 organisations will host booths and conduct recruitment. Job seekers can submit applications during the event and may be selected for on-the-spot interviews.

 

Positions offered include interior designer, technical services supervisor, system administrator, data centre technician, vehicle inspector, traffic supervisor, aero engine repairing mechanic trainee, sales officer, assistant clerk, shop supervisor, bookshop assistant, food production operator, packaging worker, chef, waiter/waitress, security guard, Care-on-Call centre executive, and taxi driver.

 

Over 80% of the openings are full-time jobs. Most vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $12,000 to $25,000. About 95% of the vacancies require a Secondary 7 education level or below. Around 46% are open to job seekers without relevant work experience.

 

The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at 1/F, MacPherson Stadium, 38 Nelson Street, Mong Kok. Admission is free, and the final admission time is 5pm each day.
