The Education Bureau today announced that six kindergarten premises are open for applications by eligible bodies under the Kindergarten Premises Allocation Exercise 2024.

The venues, which will be available in 2025 and 2026, include six new estate kindergarten premises, each with six to nine classrooms, located in Kwun Tong, Yuen Long, North, Sha Tin and Islands districts.

Kindergartens, especially those facing high rental expenses, dilapidated school environments and facilities, and a surplus of kindergarten places in the district, are encouraged to apply for relocation.

The bureau explained that it will accord priority to applications from schools under the kindergarten education scheme. Applications for operating new kindergartens will only be considered if no suitable applicants are found for relocation.

Noting that quality of education is the prime consideration, the bureau said it will take into account the applicant bodies' operation plans, their track records in running kindergartens and relocation needs.

Applications must be submitted no later than 5pm on September 19. Details can be found online.
