The Mainland University Study Subsidy Scheme 2024-25 is open for applications from Hong Kong students until September 13, the Education Bureau announced today.

Covering 197 designated Mainland institutions, 138 of which participated in the 2024-25 Scheme for Admission of Hong Kong Students to Mainland Higher Education Institutions, the subsidy scheme will benefit most Hong Kong students who pursue undergraduate studies on the Mainland and have different financial needs.

While the scheme is not subject to any quota system, applicants may only receive either a means-tested subsidy or a non-means-tested subsidy in the same academic year.

The subsidy is granted on a yearly basis and the subsidised period covers the normal duration of the undergraduate programme pursued by the student concerned.

Eligible students may enrol online or by post. Application results are expected to be released by the first quarter of 2025.
