The Government announced today the appointments of Herman Hui as Chairperson of the Social Workers Registration Board and Grace Chan as its Deputy Chairperson.
It also announced the appointments of 10 members of the board, namely Chan Chong-lai, Anna May Chan, Prof Amy Chow, Fong Cheung-fat, Frederick Lai, Dr Kevin Lau, Patricia Lau, Roy Lo, Annie Tam and Barry Wong.
The appointments are for three years and take effect today.
Noting that the Social Workers Registration Board handles registration matters and monitors the professional conduct of registered social workers, Secretary for Labour & Welfare Chris Sun said the newly appointed members come from diverse backgrounds.
“I expect that they will bring in a broader and more balanced participation in the Board to ensure that public interest will be safeguarded,” he added.
