The Government said that it is very concerned about a power supply incident that happened in Wong Tai Sin tonight and has requested CLP Power Hong Kong (CLP) to carry out repair work as soon as possible.

The electrical incident occurred at around 8.02pm. According to the information provided by CLP, there was a fault on the 11kV underground cable in Wong Tai Sin, leading to a power supply outage that affected about 2,250 customers.

Saying that residents were trapped in lifts and might have an uncomfortable night amid the hot weather, the Government noted that CLP has arranged mobile generators at the site to restore power supply for some residences.

The Government added that it has reminded CLP to update the residents on the latest progress of the repair work from time to time.
