Medical services enhanced for LNY

Secretary for Health Prof Lo Chung-mau (third right) inspects the Accident & Emergency Department of Kwong Wah Hospital.
Secretary for Health Prof Lo Chung-mau today inspected the Accident & Emergency (A&E) Department of Kwong Wah Hospital as well as the Robert Black General Out-patient Clinic to better grasp some of the measures being taken for the Lunar New Year.
Prof Lo was briefed by healthcare personnel on the daily operation of the A&E Department and outpatient clinics during the visit and learnt about the measures adopted by the Hospital Authority to cope with an anticipated huge service demand during and after the Lunar New Year long holiday.
The measures include increasing the consultation quota of public hospital outpatient clinics by 25%, opening more outpatient clinics (from 14 to 18) and providing 1,800 government-subsidised outpatient consultation quotas at the Chinese Medicine Clinics & Training & Research Centres during the holiday.
Additionally, the Health Bureau has collated the information of private hospitals, healthcare facilities, family doctors and Chinese medicine clinics which will be in operation during the holiday. The data has been uploaded to an online portal for public reference.
Prof Lo noted that this enables citizens in need to look for suitable hospitals or clinics for medical treatment, adding that some 100 private hospitals, clinics and healthcare facilities as well as over 40 Chinese medicine clinics will operate during the long holiday.
