The Transport Department today alerted the public to a fraudulent SMS message purportedly issued by HKeToll, which hyperlinks to a fake HKeToll website “hketollie. info” seeking to obtain the recipient’s credit card information.

The department stated that the SMS message was not sent by HKeToll. The case has been reported to Police for investigation.

It advised citizens to stay alert when receiving unidentified messages and refrain from disclosing personal data and visiting suspicious websites, adding that anyone who has provided personal information to such websites should contact Police.
