400k jobless relief applications vetted

May 20, 2022

The Government today said it has vetted 400,000 out of the 470,000 applications for the Temporary Unemployment Relief Scheme.

The 400,000 submissions comprise about 300,000 successful and 100,000 unsuccessful ones. Both successful and unsuccessful applicants will receive a notification via SMS or email, the Government noted.

Major reasons for rejection include applicants who were still employed or had a job on the date of submitting the application; those whose monthly income did not meet the requirement of falling between $2,700 and $30,000; and applicants who had been unemployed or restricted from working in specified premises for a continuous period of less than 30 days.

For a review of the application result, call 183 6128 or email enquiry@tur.gov.hk. If necessary, the government-appointed agent may ask the applicant to provide supplementary information.
