The Government today said that the Temporary Unemployment Relief Scheme received over 65,800 applications as at 6pm on its first day.

The online application portal which also launched today, has been operating smoothly, it added.

The scheme provides a one-off subsidy of $10,000 to people who lost their jobs due to the fifth wave of the epidemic.

Full and part-time employees as well as the self-employed can apply. Applications should be submitted online by 11.59pm on April 12.

Enquiries can be made by email, a live chat function at the scheme's website or the hotline 183 6128.

Applicants needing assistance may schedule an appointment through the hotline and visit one of the five service centres. The addresses and service hours of the centres are listed on the scheme's website.
