Half-day schooling continues in Sept

Secretary for Education Kevin Yeung:
For schools, our current arrangement is from September, we will be back on half-day, face-to-face lessons. At the same time, we also require all the staff at school to be either vaccinated or undergo regular testing. If an individual student has taken the second dose of vaccine, we (will) allow him or her to stay at school in the afternoon for some non-academic activities. This also (offers) flexibility, so that students could have more chance to exercise and to practise musical instruments and things like that.

Schools will continue to conduct half-day, face-to-face lessons in the new school year in September, Secretary for Education Kevin Yeung announced at a press conference today.

To offer more flexibility, Mr Yeung said that if an individual student has received their second COVID-19 vaccine dose, the Education Bureau will allow them to stay at school in the afternoon for non-academic activities.

“Students could have more chance to exercise and to practise musical instruments and things like that,” he added.

In addition, under the latest arrangement, the Government will require all school staff to either get vaccinated or undergo regular testing.
