Six vacant elected seats in the Tuen Mun, Eastern, Sha Tin, Yuen Long and Tsuen Wan district councils were gazetted today.

Tuen Mun District Council Fu Sun Constituency elected member Lee Ka-wai had been consecutively absent from all the council meetings since March 16 without obtaining the council’s consent before the end of the disqualifying period.

In accordance with the District Councils Ordinance, Mr Lee was disqualified from holding office on July 17, and since then his office has been vacant.

Another five constituency seats became vacant following the resignation of relevant elected members.
