The Department of Health today appealed to members of the public to stay alert of a fraudulent email purported to be issued by the Centre for Health Protection.

The email, from enquiry_chpweb@dh.gov.hk, alleged that the centre would conduct surveillance on the health of universities’ staff due to the epidemic and requested recipients to provide their health and travel records.

The department clarified that it did not issue the email, adding it has referred the case to Police for investigation.

Anyone who has provided personal information in accordance with the email’s instructions should contact Police.
