Quarantine orders to be issued
The Centre for Health Protection today said all asymptomatic residents living at units 33 and 34 on all floors of Ming Lai House at Choi Wan (II) Estate in Wong Tai Sin have to be quarantined.
The centre has identified six confirmed COVID-19 cases involving units 33 at three different floors and units 34 at two different floors.
It has co-ordinated with related government departments and organisations and conducted a site inspection this evening of the concerned floors and units of the building to investigate and examine if environmental factors were involved in the infections.
Taking into account the opinions from experts, the centre decided to carry out prudent infection control measures before the relevant departments completed their inspection of the building's vent pipes.
All asymptomatic residents living at units 33 and 34 on all floors of Ming Lai House will be transferred to quarantine centres while symptomatic residents will be sent to hospital for treatment.
Separately, given that confirmed cases have been reported involving three units on 32/F of Ming Yan Lau building at Jat Min Chuen, the centre also conducted a site inspection today.
For prudence sake, the Department of Health will issue quarantine orders to asymptomatic residents living near the confirmed cases on 32/F and transfer them to quarantine centres.
They are residents of units 1 to 12, 14 and 16 on 32/F.
The epidemiological investigations of the two buildings are ongoing.
