Sha Tin mobile testing set

December 16, 2020

The Government today announced it will arrange for a testing agency to set up a mobile specimen collection station at Jat Min Chuen in Sha Tin from tomorrow.

The station will be set up at the estate's basketball court. It will be open from 2pm to 8pm tomorrow and thereafter daily from 10am to 8pm. It will tentatively operate until December 21.

The Government said it is very concerned about a number of confirmed COVID-19 cases recently reported at Ming Yan Lau building at Jat Min Chuen and Lung San House at Lung Poon Court in Wong Tai Sin.

The mobile specimen collection station set up at Wong Tai Sin Square will also extend its operation period to December 21.

It will accord priority to Lung San House residents and workers who are subject to compulsory testing.

The testing agency will provide free specimen collection services by combined nasal and throat swabs at the mobile stations.

People whose test results are negative will be informed by SMS.

Those with a positive result will be referred to the Department of Health's Public Health Laboratory Services Branch for a confirmatory test. Confirmed cases will be followed up and announced by the Centre for Health Protection.

The Government urged all individuals who are in doubt about their health condition or with exposure to infection risk to undergo testing promptly.
