Young local percussionist Matthew Lau will demonstrate his superb skills in a recital to be staged in October.

He will perform Alejandro Almada’s Linde for Vibraphone & Tape, the Hong Kong premiere of Von Hansen’s Loops for Vibraphone & Computer, Paul Lansky’s Travel Diary for Two Percussion with fellow percussionist Vonald Chow, and more.

Matthew Lau obtained his Doctor of Musical Arts in contemporary percussion performance from Stony Brook University in the US. He holds a Master’s degree of Music from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree of Music from Hong Kong Baptist University.

He is currently a part-time lecturer at the Baptist University’s Department of Music.

“Our Music Talents Series: Percussion Recital by Matthew Lau” will be staged at 8pm on October 5 at Hong Kong City Hall.
