The Electoral Affairs Commission (EAC) today released guidelines for activities relating to Rural Representative Elections.

The guidelines will apply to the 2027 Rural Ordinary Election, scheduled for early next year, and subsequent rural by-elections.

The EAC conducted a public consultation on its proposed guidelines from July 20 to August 18.

The guidelines are available for public viewing at the offices of the Registration and Electoral Office, the Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of all District Offices, and major and district public libraries.

Prospective candidates and other stakeholders are advised to carefully read the guidelines and all relevant electoral legislation, and to strictly comply with them.
