The Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department (AFCD) concluded a special inspection and enforcement operation today on the proper control of dogs, detecting three suspected cases where large dogs were not securely held on a leash in public places.

AFCD officers will follow up on these cases and institute prosecutions accordingly.

Conducted on August 30 and September 5 and 6, the operation aimed to encourage pet keepers to properly control their dogs in public places, reducing attacks from improper control.

Officers also promoted responsible pet ownership and explained relevant statutory requirements to the public.

The AFCD will continue to step up routine inspections and enforcement, urging pet owners to keep their dogs under proper control at all times.
