Land to be resumed for development
The Lands Department today posted its fifth batch of notices to resume 71 private lots, covering about 33,900 square metres, for the second phase of the Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area (NDA).
The targeted land includes two sites from withdrawn in-situ land exchange applications, alongside a small portion of third-party land required for the remaining two in-situ land exchange applications.
The properties will officially revert to the Government on September 26, 2026, after which ex-gratia land compensation will be distributed to eligible land owners.
Affected households and business operators are expected to clear the sites starting in December at the earliest. The department is actively managing rehousing and compensation procedures to support those affected before the departure deadline.
Once fully developed, the NDA will provide about 66,700 additional housing units accommodating 184,000 residents, and create about 150,000 employment opportunities.
