10 building plans approved in April
The Buildings Department approved 10 building plans in Apr – two on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and four in the New Territories.
Of the approved plans, six were for apartment or apartment/commercial developments, three were for commercial developments, and one was for factory or industrial development.
Consent was given for works to start on eight building projects. Upon completion, they will provide 73,468 sq m of domestic gross floor area, involving six private units and 1,595 Housing Society rental units, as well as 38,683 sq m of non-domestic gross floor area.
Additionally, the department has received notification of commencement of superstructure works for five building projects.
It also issued 14 occupation permits – two on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.
The buildings certified for occupation comprise 86,626 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 2,009 units, and 73,982 sq m for non-domestic use.
Meanwhile, the department received 2,454 reports about unauthorised building works in April, issued 761 removal orders, and gave three demolition consents.
