Candidates planning to enrol in the Scheme for Admission of Hong Kong Students to Mainland Higher Education Institutions can apply online from December 1 to 31, the Education Bureau said today.

The 165 Mainland higher education institutions participating in the scheme will accept applications from students sitting for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination in 2026.

Students should confirm their application verification results online before January 10, 2026, while those providing supplementary information should do so before January 23. Students who pass the application verification should pay the enrolment fee by January 31.

Institutions will announce admission results in late July 2026 and arrange for supplementary enrolment according to the enrolment situation.

The bureau highlighted that the number of participating institutions for the 2026-27 academic year is up by 20 compared to the 2025-26 academic year, with institutions from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region joining for the first time.

It urged Hong Kong students to make the most of the scheme to pursue further studies on the Mainland, learn about the country’s social, economic and cultural landscape, and plan ahead for their own future development.

The bureau added that it will continue discussions to add more renowned Mainland institutions to the scheme.
