Private school's registration cancelled
The Education Bureau today cancelled Tsung Tsin Middle School’s registration in accordance with the Education Ordinance, having considered that the school has not been managed satisfactorily and has not operated during the 2024-25 school year.
The bureau said it believes that the current school management committee has not adequately discharged its governance responsibilities, adding that there are also disputes among the school managers, as well as several ongoing lawsuits concerning the school sponsoring body.
Additionally, it pointed out that the conflicts among school managers have severely affected the school’s daily operations and management, resulting in an undesirable situation.
The bureau issued a letter on August 13 to inform the school supervisor that it is considering the cancelling of its school registration in accordance with the Education Ordinance.
The bureau explained that it received representation from school managers, but such representations did not address the fundamental problems of cessation of operation and school management.
After having carefully considered the actual circumstances of the school and other relevant factors, the bureau stressed that it has decided to cancel the school’s registration.
Taking into consideration the unsatisfactory conduct of its managers, the bureau had earlier ordered Tsung Tsin Middle School to suspend operation in accordance with section 83 of the Education Ordinance.
