Sport for All Day ballot outlined

July 14, 2024

Starting from July 16, individuals can apply via SmartPLAY to enjoy free use of most of the Leisure & Cultural Services Department (LCSD)'s fee-charging facilities on Sport For All Day, due to be held on August 4.

The free sessions will be allocated via SmartPLAY, through a balloting process. Each user can submit a total of three choices in one application. Choices must be submitted by July 22.

The results of the ballot will be automated, and successful applicants will be notified via the SmartPLAY system by July 25. No confirmation is required by applicants.

Individuals who have not been allocated any free sessions via the ballot, or who do not apply for the ballot, can book the remaining free sessions via SmartPLAY on a first-come, first-served basis from 7am on July 29.

Each individual will be limited to one free session on August 4.

No prior booking is required for public swimming pool facilities. Members of the public may line up at the entrances of swimming pools before the start of a session. Free admission is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition, the department will organise a range of free recreation and sports programmes from 2pm to 6pm on August 4 at designated sports centres across Hong Kong's 18 districts.

These will include health talks, fitness corners, sports demonstrations and participation activities for the elderly and people with disabilities.

To tie in with the theme of the event, parent-child exercises will also be held at designated venues. Activity coupons will be distributed at LCSD District Leisure Services Offices and designated venues in the 18 districts on July 22.

To tie in with Sport For All Day, more than 10 organisations will offer free land-based and aquatic recreation and sports programmes at their own venues, or open up their facilities for free use on the day of the event.

Sports demonstrations will feature in a live webcast on a dedicated website and on the LCSD Plusss Facebook page from 2pm on August 4.
