Dental queuing system improved

May 27, 2024

Starting from June 11, preliminary registration arrangements at the nine dental clinics run by the Department of Health that offer walk-in emergency sessions to the general public will be modified for the convenience of those queuing.

Currently, preliminary registration begins at midnight on the day of emergency session. Under the new arrangements, registration will begin at 8pm the day before.

The nine dental clinics are Kennedy Town Community Complex Dental Clinic, Kowloon City Dental Clinic, Kwun Tong Dental Clinic, Mona Fong Dental Clinic, Tai Po Wong Siu Ching Dental Clinic, Fanling Health Centre Dental Clinic, Tsuen Wan Dental Clinic, Yan Oi Dental Clinic and Yuen Long Government Offices Dental Clinic.

On completion of preliminary registration, patients will not have to continue waiting at the clinic. Preliminary registration will cease when the quota of general public sessions for the following day is full. Patients should then return to the clinic in the morning, at the scheduled disc-distributing time, to obtain a disc and register formally to receive treatment.

Under the new arrangements, preliminary registration for general public sessions on June 11 will begin at 8pm on June 10.

Notices outlining the new arrangements will be displayed prominently at the clinics. Click here for the addresses and operating hours of the clinics.

In addition, upgrades to the department’s software and systems are in progress, and the department aims to roll out an online disc distribution and registration system for general public dental services this year. This will eliminate the need to queue in person to obtain a disc and the system will provide real-time information on the availability of sessions.
