Youth job fair set for May 14

The Labour Department announced today that it will hold the Youth Recruitment Day@Youth Employment & Training Programme on May 14, when 33 organisations from various industries will provide over 2,000 full-time and part-time on-the-job training vacancies for young job seekers.

 

The openings cover a wide variety of positions such as operations trainee, aircraft maintenance mechanic trainee, barista, tea bartender, customer service officer, ride and attractions host, technician, and assistant clubhouse officer.

 

Most of the full-time vacancies offer monthly salaries from $12,000 to $20,000, and do not require relevant work experience.

 

People aged 15 to 24 with education attainment at a sub-degree level or below are welcome to submit applications at the event, where they may be invited for on-site interviews.

 

In addition, the Labour Department will set up booths on the recruitment day to introduce the Youth Employment & Training Programme, including its workplace attachment, special employment projects and on-the-job training vacancies.

 

Meanwhile, various service providers will assist visitors to select and enrol in training courses, provide career consultation and offer advice on resume preparation.

 

The recruitment event also features career talks on the prospects and characteristics of different industries. Guest speakers Hins Cheung, Phil Lam, Yumi Chung and Dark Wong will share stories of pursuing their own career development.

 

The recruitment event will be held from 11am to 5.30pm, free of charge, at MacPherson Stadium, 38 Nelson Street in Mong Kok. The last admission time is 5pm.
