The Cheung Chau Climbing Carnival will be held on May 5 for the public to experience the exciting atmosphere of bun scrambling.

The event, one of the highlights of the 2024 Bun Carnival, will take place at the soccer pitch of Pak Tai Temple Playground from noon to 6pm.

Those interested must be at least one-metre in height and can apply on the spot to climb the 14-metre-tall bun tower set up for the Bun Scrambling Competition on May 15.

China Hong Kong Mountaineering & Climbing Union members will brief carnival visitors on climbing skills and safety matters of bun tower climbing.

Visitors can also make wishes at the Wishing Bun Tower at the venue. Other carnival activities include variety shows, game stalls and handicrafts as well as an exhibition of winning works from Student Drawing Competitions.
