CE to attend NPC session in Beijing

Chief Executive John Lee will depart for Beijing on March 4 to attend the opening meeting of the second annual session of the 14th National People’s Congress on March 5, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced today.

 

Director of the Chief Executive’s Office Carol Yip will join the visit.

 

During the trip, Mr Lee will call on central ministries to enhance co-operation and exchange.

 

He will also witness the signing of co-operation documents between the Hong Kong Jockey Club and the National Health Commission and the Health Bureau respectively on strengthening the training of healthcare talent and commencing projects on prevention and response against local communicable diseases. Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Christopher Hui and Secretary for Health Prof Lo Chung-mau will join relevant parts of the visit.

 

Mr Lee will return to Hong Kong on March 6. During his absence, Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki will the Acting Chief Executive.
