Flower show set for March
The annual Hong Kong Flower Show will be held in Victoria Park from March 15 to 24, with the refreshingly fragrant and uniquely shaped angelonia as the theme flower.
Native to the tropical Americas, angelonia, also known as angel flower, is a herbaceous plant consisting of many species that come in vibrant colours including pure white, pinkish red, light purple, purple and two-tone stripes.
With a long flowering period, angelonia thrives in hot and humid conditions and is suitable for growing in Hong Kong.
In addition to the theme flower and other flowering plants, the event will showcase exquisite potted plants, beautiful floral arrangements and well-crafted landscape displays by local, Mainland and overseas organisations.
Flowers and horticultural products will be sold at the venue by commercial stalls, while educational and recreational fringe activities will be organised for visitors of all ages to enjoy.
