Xia Baolong meets legal, media reps

CPC Central Committee Hong Kong & Macao Work Office Director and State Council Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office Director Xia Baolong inspected a community living room and met representatives of Hong Kong's legal and media sectors today.
 
Accompanied by Chief Executive John Lee and Secretary for Home & Youth Affairs Alice Mak, Mr Xia had morning tea with district personalities at a restaurant in Wong Tai Sin to exchange views with them on local livelihood issues.
 
In the company of Mr Lee and Secretary for Labour & Welfare Chris Sun, Mr Xia then inspected the Sham Shui Po Community Living Room to study about the progress of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's poverty alleviation projects.
 
The community living room, equipped with daily living facilities, provides additional living space for subdivided unit households. Referrals to suitable community services are made on an as-needed basis to improve the quality of life for residents living in such households.
 
At noon, accompanied by Secretary for Justice Paul Lam and Deputy Secretary for Justice Cheung Kwok-kwan, Mr Xia had an engagement session and working lunch with representatives of the Hong Kong Bar Association and the Law Society of Hong Kong.
 
Mr Xia, together with the Chief Executive, also had an exchange session with senior representatives of major local media and renowned current affairs commentators.
