The Leisure & Cultural Services Department today appealed to the public to keep venues clean and be mindful of their safety while watching the Lunar New Year Fireworks Display on February 11, which will take place on the second day of the Lunar New Year.

In addition to advising people to exercise tolerance and patience, the department urged them to pay attention to crowd management measures and take heed of police instructions.

It added that people should take their belongings with them and not leave trash behind.

The department, together with the law enforcement teams of other relevant departments, will strengthen patrol at various venues where large crowds are expected. What’s more, measures will be stepped up to tackle littering, illegal hawking and vandalism.

Furthermore, since some parts of the green lawns, passageways and viewing platforms of Tamar Park and the Central & Western District Promenade - Central Section have been temporarily closed in preparation for “teamLab: Continuous”, a large-scale outdoor art installation exhibition scheduled to be launched in March, the department said citizens may consider going to other places to avoid overcrowding.
