At the Intelligent Transport Systems Centre, Secretary for Transport & Logistics Lam Sai-hung (first right) learns about how Singapore addresses challenges in urban traffic management.

Wrapping up his trip to Singapore today, Secretary for Transport & Logistics Lam Sai-hung paid visits to the Intelligent Transport Systems Centre, Jurong Island and Changi Airport, and met local officials.

Mr Lam first went to the Singaporean Land Transport Authority’s Intelligent Transport Systems Centre to understand the challenges in Singapore’s urban traffic management and how the intelligent transport systems could improve transport efficiency. He then visited the Singapore Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal on Jurong Island where he received a briefing on the use of sustainable energy.

In the afternoon, the transport chief toured Changi Airport and met representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. He also met Singaporean Minister for Transport Chee Hong Tat to discuss issues of mutual interest.

Noting that Hong Kong and Singapore have all along maintained close bilateral trade relations, Mr Lam said he looks forward to the strengthening of co-operation between the two places as well as collaborating on promoting transport and logistics development in the Asia-Pacific region.

Mr Lam also met Hong Kong people living in Singapore in the evening to learn about their daily lives.

He will return to Hong Kong tomorrow.
