Secretary for Education Choi Yuk-lin will depart tomorrow on a visit to Guangzhou and Shenzhen, before returning to Hong Kong on January 11.
 

During the visit, Ms Choi will officiate at a plaque unveiling ceremony for the first teacher training and exchange base on the Mainland, and at the launch of Mainland study tours for new teachers at South China Normal University (SCNU).
      

The education chief will also conduct exchanges with SCNU leaders and Hong Kong students studying at the university, and tour the Affiliated High School of SCNU and Sun Yat-sen University.
 

Additionally, she will join secondary school students visiting Shenzhen on a Mainland study as part of their Citizenship & Social Development subject studies.
      

During her absence, Under Secretary for Education Sze Chun-fai will be Acting Secretary.
