The Major Sports Events Committee today announced that it has awarded “M” Mark status to the Bank of China Hong Kong Tennis Open 2024, due to be held from this Sunday to January 7, 2024.

Major Sports Events Committee Chairman Wilfred Ng said this edition of the event marks the return of the ATP Professional Tennis Tour to Hong Kong for the first time in 21 years, in which elite men's tennis players from around the globe will compete at the Victoria Park Tennis Court.

Mr Ng added that the event will add colour and vibrancy to Hong Kong, attract more visitors from abroad, and showcase Hong Kong’s capabilities in hosting world-class events, enhancing its status as a centre for major international sporting occasions.

The “M” Mark system aims to encourage and assist local and national sports associations as well as private and non-governmental organisations, to organise more sports events and grow them into sustainable initiatives.
