Website for carers launches

November 30, 2023

The Information Gateway for Carers, commissioned by the Social Welfare Department in a joint venture with the Jockey Club Charities Trust, was launched today.

Besides providing carers with quick and convenient information on welfare services, community resources and caring techniques, the website will also deploy pop-up messages to encourage them to seek help when necessary.

The Shue Yan University was commissioned to develop the website, which has a user-friendly interface and easy search functions giving carers access to comprehensive and up-to-date information so that they can get the support they need.

Opinions from carers were collected before the website was constructed. Its content covers services for the elderly, people with disabilities, those in mental recovery, children with special educational needs and carers, in addition to resources on caring skills and community activities for carers.

The website is linked to the Designated Hotline for Carer Support, 182 183, and the Vacancy Enquiry System for Respite Services/Emergency Placement.
