Mainland higher education expo set

November 27, 2023

The Mainland Higher Education Expo 2024-25 will be held at the Convention & Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai from December 2 to 3.

Jointly organised by the Ministry of Education and the Education Bureau, the expo will provide students aspiring to pursue further studies on the Mainland with information on the arrangements of the Scheme for Admission of Hong Kong Students to Mainland Higher Education Institutions for the 2024-25 academic year.

The 138 Mainland higher education institutions participating in the admission scheme admit Hong Kong students based on their Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination results, thereby exempting them from taking the Joint Entrance Examination for Mainland Institutions.

Among the participating institutions, 129 of them will set up exhibition booths to provide information on aspects such as faculties and subjects, admission criteria and the number of student places.

Ministry of Education representatives will also be there to explain the scheme’s application procedures and admission arrangements.

A number of sharing sessions will be held during the expo where representatives of Mainland institutions plan to introduce the characteristics of individual programmes while guest speakers provide career prospects analysis.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong students who graduated from Mainland institutions will share their study experiences.

The expo also has an online platform where all participating Mainland higher education institutions will set up virtual exhibition booths.

Additionally, a handbook on the scheme, compiled by the bureau together with the China Education Exchange (Hong Kong) Centre and the Hok Yau Club, will be distributed at the expo.
