Chris Sun attends SZ conference

Secretary for Labour & Welfare Chris Sun today attended the 2nd National Conference on the Development of Human Resources Services and called on Vice Minister of Human Resources & Social Security Yu Jiadong in Shenzhen.

 

At the two-day conference, Mr Sun briefed Minister of Human Resources & Social Security Wang Xiaoping on an array of policy initiatives to attract and retain talent set out in the Policy Address to raise Hong Kong’s competitiveness and keep creating a strong impetus for growth.

 

Mr Sun also updated Ms Wang during her tour to the exhibition area of Hong Kong Talent Engage on the achievements of the Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme (GBA YES).

 

He highlighted the collaboration with Guangdong counterparts and the partners from various municipalities.

 

Mr Sun had a lunch meeting with China International Intellectech Group Co Chairman Bu Yulong to exchange views on protecting imported workers’ employment rights and benefits.

 

The company is one of the enterprises approved by the Mainland's commerce authorities to engage in labour service co-operation with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

 

In the afternoon, Mr Sun and the Hong Kong SAR delegation he was leading, called on Vice Minister of Human Resources & Social Security Yu Jiadong to discuss deepening talent collaboration.

 

Mr Sun then gave a presentation on Hong Kong talent admission policies and the GBA YES to jobseekers and students at the conference's recruitment event for youth talent in the bay area.

 

He also had thorough discussions with provincial and municipal leaders at a forum on the high-quality development of human resources services in the bay area.

 

In addition, the delegation toured two exhibitions to learn more about the development of various industries in the bay area and the country as well as the talent they need.

 

Mr Sun concluded his visit by meeting officials of the Dongguan Human Resources & Social Security Bureau. The delegation returned to Hong Kong in the evening.
