Time-varying tolls set for Dec 17
Time-varying tolls at the Cross-Harbour Tunnel, the Eastern Harbour Crossing and the Western Harbour Crossing will be implemented at 5am on December 17, the Government announced today.
The Road Tunnels (Government) (Amendment) Ordinance 2023 (Commencement) Notice in relation to the implementation arrangement will be tabled at the Legislative Council on October 18, the first day of its resumption of business, for negative vetting.
The Government has decided to appoint 5am on December 17 as the starting time by the Commencement Notice in order to ensure the orderly and smooth implementation of time-varying tolls.
Such timing will allow sufficient time for carrying out extensive publicity work so that members of the public can have a better understanding of the detailed arrangements of the new toll plans through various channels.
Among the various publicity efforts, the new toll enquiry function will be added to the HKeMobility mobile application.
